Musk keeps tweeting about Dogecoin in latest crypto craze

“Ideally, Doge speeds up block time 10X, increases block size 10X & drops fee 100X. Then it wins hands down,” Elon Musk (a.k.a. the Dogefather) said in the latest tweet to light up the crypto world.
He was responding to another post from @itsALLrisky, a self-described former #Bitcoin maximalist who took the #DOGE Pill. “Elon is choosing $DOGE because Dogecoin is better than #Bitcoin in many fundamental ways. #Dogecoin has faster transaction speeds, lower fees, and less environmental impact than #BTC. #DOGE is affordable for regular folks because of its high supply.”
Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream and inventor of Hashcash, is not having any of it. “That’s not how any of this works, @elonmusk would be like someone wading into spaceX with ideas for a cuboid rocket fueled by water.”
Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) has barely moved on the news, trading around $0.51, but other cryptos have been diverging over the last 24 hours. Bitcoin (BTC-USD) -1.2% to $48,624. Ethereum (ETH-USD) -5.1% to $3,707.18. Ripple (XRP-USD) +13.1% to $1.53. Stellar (XLM-USD) +9.5% to $0.75. Cardano (ADA-USD) +2% to $2.33.
“Working with Doge devs to improve system transaction efficiency. Potentially promising,” tweeted Musk on Friday, which sent the crypto up 30% to $0.53 on 24-hour volume of $21.5B.
